Colorectal Surgeon in Bangladesh - Dr. Md. Shahadot Hossain Sheikh

Prof. Sheikh has been working as a Professor of Colo-rectal surgery from June 2013 to till date in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka, Bangladesh, which is 1900 Bedded Hospital.

His area of special interest is laparoscopic colo-rectal surgery.

During his 20 years of professional career as a surgeon, apart from colo-rectal surgery he has performed quite a good number of surgical procedures related to upper GIT, hernia operations, operations on endocrine organs and breast.

From 2003, he has began laparoscopic abdominal procedures with main concentration to colo-rectal diseases. For the last 9 years he is doing advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery. By this time he did 112 laparoscopic anterior resections, 90 abdomino-perineal resections, 61 laparoscopic hemicolectomy 32 laparoscopic abdominal rectopexy (wells), 19 lap. Vental mesh rectopexy and 9 lap. total colectomy. In his regular colorectal practice, he is doing longo procedure for haemorrhoidal disease and prefering seton/modified LIFT procedure for complex fistula in ano. Recently he is dealing with lots of pelvic floor disorders (Constipation, Defecation problems etc).
